Transition from WISARD to EUCLID CCAM

The Course Creation, Approval and Maintenance (CCAM) process currently delivered online via WISARD enables the recording and maintenance of course data within the University’s corporate student record database (DACS – Database of Admissions, Curricula and Students).

In November 2009 Course Creation, Approval and Maintenance (CCAM) in EUCLID will go live, with course data migrated from DACS to EUCLID. For a transitional period until July 2010, both WISARD CCAM and EUCLID CCAM will have to run in parallel .

This document provides guidance on which system to use during this transitional period.

Course Details & Course Instances (Deliveries)

Both WISARD and EUCLID store course data at 2 levels - Course and Instance.

Basic details including Course Name, Credit Level and Learning Outcomes are held at Course level while details specific to an instance (delivery) of the course including Delivery Period and Compulsory and Elective Class details are held at the Instance level.

Changes made to the Course details are reflected across all instances of the course while changes to instance specific details will only affect that delivery.
