Add a Compulsory Course

Below the title and description we can see the Compulsory Courses for this DPT. The example below shows three compulsory courses.

To add an additional compulsory course, click the Add a Compulsory Course hyperlink.

The Course Code field contains a dynamic list box that can be used to retrieve the course to be added. Start typing the course name (case sensitive) or course code (any case) to display a drop down list of matching courses.

Selecting a course from the list will populate the field with the course code.

The Notes field can be used to add any guidance relating to the course, this will be displayed to students when viewing the DPT.

If the course should be taken in a specific period then this can be identified using the Period field drop down list. The field should be left blank if the course can be taken in any period.

If the Period field is left blank then May take in any period must be selected from the Period Selection drop down list.

Click  to add the course to the DPT.

The course has now been added to the DPT displaying the code, name, notes, sequence, period (if applicable) and credits. The Edit link can be used to make changes to notes and period information.

The sequence number relates to the order in which courses are displayed in a DPT. For compulsory courses this is system generated however when adding Courses Options this will be managed by the DPT Editor.
