DPT Roll Forward

DPTs are academic year specific and therefore new DPT records will need to be created on a yearly basis.

In the beggining of the calendar year, EUCLID will roll forward all active DPTs using a cloning process, this will create the following academic year records. The new DPT codes created will be identical with the exception of the academic year suffix which will be rolled forward to the following academic year (e.g. 09/10 to 10/11). Users will be advised of the exact date of the roll forward beforehand.

The rolled forward DPTs will have a status of Inactive and will be displayed after the roll forward is completed in both the Close/Open DPT and Amend DPT screens as below.

Schools will use the Amend DPT process between mid February and April to make the required changes for the next academic year. Having checked and updated the rolled forward records, DPT Editors will be able to use the Close/Open DPT process to change the DPT status to Active.

By changing the status of the rolled forward DPT to Active, the current year DPT will automatically be made Inactive. This will avoid any confusion regarding which DPT is currently in use and will also dictate which will be published in the DRPS.
