Using the OR Operator with Overarching Rules

Below is an example DPT that requires students to select 0-40 credits from two course collections subject to an overarching rule of 40 credits.

The issue below is the inclusion of the OR operator between the two course collections which will force validation during Online Course Enrolment that will only allow selections to be made from one of the course collections.

To remove the OR operator and allow selections to be made from both collections follow the steps below.

Click the change this operand link.

Use the drop down list in the Operand column to remove the OR.

Click the Store button.

A message will appear on the screen to confirm your changes have been stored successfully.

Click the Go back to DPT link to return to the updated DPT.

Selections can now be made from either course collection within the range of 0-40 credits subject to an overarching rule of a total of 40 credits.
