Add a Course Enrolment

The Edit Course Enrolments (not validated by DPT rules) screen displays a list of the student’s current course enrolments.

Note: Any changes made through this screen will not be validated against the DPT or individual Course Entry Requirements.

To enrol a student on a course, click the Add Course button.

The Select Course field is dynamic and can be used to search by Course Name or Course Code.

Search by Course Name (case sensitive)

  • Physics – all courses that begin with the word ‘Physics’
  • *Physics – use a wildcard* to list all courses that contain the word ‘Physics’ anywhere in the Course Name
  • *History*Art – use wildcards* to list all courses that contain the words ‘History’ and ‘Art’ in the Course Name

Search by Course Code

  • HIST08001 – enter the full Course Code if known
  • HIST08* - use a wildcard* to list all SCQF Level 8 courses with a Home Subject of ‘History’
  • CHEM11* - use a wildcard* to list all SCQF Level 11 courses with a Home Subject of ‘Chemistry’

Begin typing the Course Name or Course Code into the Select Course field to see a drop down list of matching courses.

Select a course from the list.

The Course Code is automatically populated into the Select Course field with the full Course Name displayed below.

Use the Status drop down list to flag the course as Compulsory or Optional. The default is Optional.

Click the Continue button to view a list of Course Instances for the selected course.

A list of the Course Instances for 2010/11 is displayed showing the Course Availability, Course Period and Credit Points.

In this example the course is delivered once in 2010/11.

Use the radio button to select the Course Instance and click the Add button to enrol the student.

A message is displayed confirming the successful course enrolment.

Click the View course(s) taken button to return to the updated list of course enrolment.

The course has been added to the list and the Total Credits updated. Click the Close button to return to the Student List Report.

The Student List Report is automatically refreshed updating the student's Course Enrolment Status to Course Selection Edited.

In addition a message is displayed in the Course Enrolment (validated by DPT rules) column informing the user that they can no longer use the validated link to enrol the student on courses as changes have been made using the Edit Course Enrolments (not validated by DPT rules) link.
