DPT validated Course Enrolment
From session 2010/11 the curriculum published in the Degree Programme Tables (DPTs) will be used to enrol students onto their Compulsory Courses and where applicable to validate any Optional Course selections made on behalf of the student via the DPT validated Course Enrolment functionality in EUCLID.
Student course enrolment records will be generated via a central process that will automatically enrol students onto the Compulsory Courses as published in the DPT for their registered Programme and Year of Study.
In addition, the Generate Course Enrolments process will set-up details of any Optional Course requirements published in the DPT ready for selections to be made on behalf of the student.
The Course Enrolment Status of a student is displayed in the Student List report. This helps to identify those students who are waiting for their Optional Course selections to be Submitted and those who have had theirs Confirmed.
An enrolment status of Ready for Course Selection indicates that a student’s course enrolment records have been generated (i.e. automatically enrolling them onto their Compulsory Courses and setting-up details of any Optional Course requirements) ready for Optional Course selections to be made and submitted by a DoS/Administrator on behalf of the student.
To begin making Optional Course selections for a student click the DPT validated Course Enrolment link in the Student List report as highlighted below.
The Course Enrolment (validated by DPT rules) screen displays the Student Details, Compulsory Course enrolments and details of any Optional Course requirements.
Student Details
- Student UUN
- Name
- Programme of Study
- Mode of Attendance
- Registration Year
- Selections (current total of selected courses and credits)
- Notes (recorded on the DPT for additional guidance)
Compulsory Courses
Students are automatically enrolled onto their Compulsory Courses as part of the Generate Course Enrolment process. It is not possible to make changes to a student’s Compulsory Course enrolments using the Course Enrolment (validated by DPT rules) screen.
Optional Courses
A description of each of the Optional Course requirements contained within the student’s DPT is displayed. Alongside each requirement is a Select button that will open the Course Selections screen where DPT validated course selections can be made on behalf of the student.
By making selections for each of the Optional Course requirements it will be possible to Submit a fully DPT validated set of course enrolments.
