Matriculation is the process by which you will be formally admitted to the University of Edinburgh.
All students must matriculate with the University at the beginning of their studies, and then matriculate for each new academic session thereafter.
Matriculation carries with it the agreement to abide by University rules. This includes payment of your tuition fees and other related costs, and allows access to the services and facilities offered to you by the University.
You can see if you have been registered by checking the Programmes Channel on the MyEd Student Portal. Although your registration date will appear on your record within 24 hours of completing the online registration form, any amendments to your student record supplied as part of the online process will take longer to appear in MyEd.
To complete full Matriculation as a student of the University, and only once you have commenced your studies, a member of staff at the College or School will confirm your attendance on programme.

If your tuition fees are being paid on your behalf by a sponsor, you need to provide the Fees and Student Support Team with evidence of the award on official headed paper.
All students holding an unconditional firm offer and within 6 weeks of their programme start date will be able to register online using a process made available to you via the MyEd portal in the Student Personal Details channel. This channel is accessed from the My Studies tab in the portal. You will receive an email to your University of Edinburgh email account advising you when this online form is available for you to complete. You should complete this online form as soon as possible to start the matriculation process and signify your intention to take up your place at Edinburgh.
Where applicable, the following documentation must be supplied by email:
Adjustments can take time to arrange and implement, and the University generally requires any changes to exam arrangements to be implemented 4 weeks before the first exam of each cycle.
It is therefore important that you discuss any specific exam requirements that you may have with a Disability Advisor well before your exams are due to commence.
